Chadwick Manufacturing was founded in 1956 by Don Smith and his son, Allen Smith. Allen later ran the business alongside his brother, Jake Smith, continuing the family legacy until 2024. That year, Chadwick Manufacturing was proudly purchased by Joe and Teresa Hammer, owners of Fast Turn Supply, Inc.
Fast Turn Supply had partnered with Chadwick Manufacturing for more than 15 years, producing machined components and bending tubing for picnic table legs. It has always been a pleasure working with the Smith family, and we sincerely thank them for building such a strong and respected business—one we are now honored to carry forward.
In 2024, They also acquired Gerber Tables, a well-known manufacturer based in Madison, Wisconsin. Gerber Tables has a long-standing reputation for durable, high-quality outdoor furniture, and we are proud to continue that legacy as part of the Chadwick Manufacturing family. All Gerber Tables operations have since been moved to our manufacturing facility in Chadwick, Illinois, allowing us to maintain consistent quality, craftsmanship, and customer service across both product lines. We extend our sincere thanks to Wes Maxcey, former owner of Gerber Tables, for his support and for helping make this transition smooth and successful.
For more than six decades, Chadwick Manufacturing—along with Gerber Tables—has served as a trusted leader in picnic table frames, park benches, campfire grills, and campground fire rings. In addition to our park and campground product lines, we also offer custom fabrication, machining, and engine machine services at our Freeport, Illinois location.
All of our products are manufactured on-site using materials proudly made in the USA. We offer ten different picnic table frame designs, along with wood, recycled plastic, and aluminum tabletop and seating packages. For customers looking for easy installation, we provide optional pre-drilling and routered ends on wood and recycled plastic packages. Fully assembled tables are also available for pickup at our facility. Our product line also includes three park grill models, campfire rings, and six bench styles. New products for this year include fire pokers and stainless steel roasting sticks, with additional new products currently in development.
Since the beginning, Chadwick Manufacturing has operated from the same location in Chadwick, Illinois, with a commitment to producing only the finest quality picnic table frames and campground equipment. We also offer two convenient pickup locations in Chadwick, IL and Freeport, IL.
